Windshield Repair

Why would you repair a windshield?

  1. Massachusetts law now requires glass repair where the damages are minor and fall outside the critical viewing area, including a crack of 6 inches or less, a stone break (commonly called "bulls-eye"), and star breaks, which are less than one inch in diameter.
  2. However, a safe windshield repair can be accomplished anywhere on the windshield, as long as it does not impair the driver's direct line of vision. Speak to your glass company representative to see if the damage to your windshield qualifies.
  3. If you decide to have your windshield repaired using our Glass Program, it will be done at absolutely no charge to you.
  4. Repairing eliminates the need to break the seal between the windshield and the vehicle - an important safety factor as windshields are a structural component of your vehicle.
  5. Your safe drive away time is significantly reduced. Repair time is generally under one hour.
  6. Repairing restores the structural integrity of your windshield.
  7. Your safety and satisfaction are important to us. We will only recommend a windshield repair when we know that the repair will be a safe one. We also guarantee the repair and if, for any reason, the repair is unsatisfactory, we will pay to replace the windshield.
  8. Since there is little or no waste material, the process helps the environment.
  9. In addition to providing a convenient service to our policyholders, repairing your windshield assists in lowering costs, helping keep insurance rates sensible.

Is Your Windshield A Candidate For Repair?

If you are able to answer YES to the three questions below, your windshield may be a good candidate for repair.

  2. Is the damage located outside of the driver's critical viewing area (area in red) as in the picture below?
  3. Does your damage appear similar to one of the examples below?
