Automobile Discounts

The following discounts are available to our customers with automobile coverage. Please contact your Travelers of Massachusetts agent for more information.

10% Hybrid Car
A discount of up to 10% applied to the premium paid for compulsory coverages (Parts 1, 2 and 4) and, if selected, optional coverages (Parts 5, 7, 8 and 9), is available for qualified hybrid and electric vehicles.

3% Pay in Full
A discount of up to 3% applied to the premium paid for compulsory coverages (Parts 1, 2 and 4) and, if selected, optional coverages (Parts 5, 7, 8 and 9) is available if you pay your full premium within 5 days of your policy effective date. Restrictions apply. Contact your Travelers of Massachusetts agent for additional details.

5% Good Student
A discount of up to 5% applied to the premium paid for compulsory coverages (Parts 1, 2 and 4) and, if selected, optional coverages (Parts 5, 7, 8 and 9) is available if the driver assigned to the vehicle is an exceptional high school, college or university student between the ages of 16 ½ and 24. Students on the Dean's List, Honor Roll, those in the upper 20% of their class, or students maintaining a B average or better (3.0 and above) qualify for this discount. Supporting documents must be provided to add this discount at the beginning of the policy term.

5% Companion Policy
A discount of up to 5% applied to the premium paid for compulsory coverages (Parts 1, 2 and 4) and, if selected, optional coverages (Parts 5, 7, 8 and 9) is available to customers who have a homeowner, tenant or condo policy written with Travelers.

5% Multi-Car
A discount of up to 5% applied to the premium paid for compulsory coverages (Parts 1, 2 and 4) and, if selected, optional coverages (Parts 5, 7, 8 and 9) is available if a policyholder owns two or more automobiles insured by the same company.

25% Age 65 and Older
A discount for all coverages is available if the driver is 65 or older, there are no inexperienced operators (fewer than 6 years driving experience) on the policy, and the vehicle is not customarily used for business.

25% Air Bag / Automatic Seatbelts
A discount of up to 25% applied to the premium paid for parts 2, 3, 6 and 12 is available if your vehicle is equipped with an air bag or automatic seat belts.

10% Annual Mileage
A discount of up to 10% applied to the premium paid for Parts 1-8 and Part 12 is available if your verified annual mileage falls between 0-5000 miles. A 5% discount off of the premium paid for Parts 1-8 and Part 12 is available if your verified annual mileage falls between 5001-7500 miles. Please note: antique vehicles are not eligible for this discount.

Up to 36% Anti-Theft Device / Vehicle Recovery System
Anti-theft discounts of up to 36% on Part 9 are available for automobiles with various types of qualifying anti-theft devices. Your agent can provide you with a list of the qualifying anti-theft devices and the corresponding discounts available.

10% Public Transit Commuter
A public transit discount of up to 10% applied to the premium paid for Parts 4 and 7 (up to a maximum of $75 per eligible vehicle) is available if you provide your insurer with evidence of purchase of 11 months of commuter passes from qualified transit systems, and you do not drive your automobile to work or school more than 10 days per month. Your agent can provide you with a list of the qualified transit systems and requirements for proof of eligibility.

12% account discount for Homeowners, Renters and Condo policies when Travelers of Massachusetts provides auto coverage for at lease one vehicle.

Protective Device Credit (Security Credit)
2% - 20% discount depending upon the type of security system you have in your home.

Safety Seminar Credit 5% discount upon completion of an approved safety seminar course (contact your agent for details)

Loss Free Credit 10% credit for business that has, for at least 2 years, been loss free.
